Prof. Natalia Marek-Trzonkowska, PhD, is director of the International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Sciences (ICCVS) at the University of Gdansk. Her research focuses on the clinical application of immune cells. She is the co-inventor of the first clinical therapy type 1 diabetes with regulatory T cells (Tregs), co-founder of PolTREG S.A. and author of international patents related to production of cells for therapeutic applications. She is currently working on personalized therapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Her research has been recognized by various national and international boards, including Kosciuszko Foundation, Minister of Science and Higher Education (Stipend for the Outstanding Young Scientists; Award for Outstanding Achievements in Implementation of Scientific Discoveries into Clinical Practice), European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), Polish-American Medical Society, Polish Academy of Sciences, International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes, and the International Islet and Pancreas Transplantation Association (ISPAD).
