Maya is a determined high school student currently in her third year of high school. She is primarily interested in epigenetics and regenerative biology. She is a member of the Innovation Hub managment team, an international youth-lead scientific magazine aiming to provide a platform for young people worldwide to publish their work for free. Maya's role within the team involves author recruitment and promotion in Poland. Her academic pursuits involve several different areas: she is the first author of a published review on epigenetics and developmental biology. She is currently writing a review on directing stem cell fate via extracellular matrix mimicry and optimizing strategies for skeletal muscle engineering. She has also contributed to work on a psychobiotic review, focusing on metabolite-based therapy, neurotransmitter production, and the transformative potential of AI in microbiome research. Maya is passionate about 3D bioprinting and its applications in both regenerative biology as well as biodesign and sustainability. Hence, she was awarded a fellowship for the Villars Institute and will be attending the symposium this summer. She hopes to pursue biochemistry at university.
