Eleanor Jones

Eleanor is a post-doctoral researcher working on the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Shehas been working at DESY in Hamburg, Germany, since the completion of her PhD with the University of Warwick in the UK in 2022. Eleanor’s current research is focused on exploring quantum phenomena at the energy frontier. This topic is an essential probe of quantum mechanics and could perhaps be a gateway to discovering new physics that could answer some of the big open questions about the Universe.

In addition to her scientific interests, Eleanor is a strong advocate of highlighting women in STEM. She created and runs a LinkedIn page for Women in Technology at CERN, where she creates content that aims to promote gender equality and female participation in technology. Eleanor is also passionate about promoting climate

sustainable practises within her academic sector. She jointly coordinates a Sustainability Forum in DESY, which provides a platform for discussions and actions

about sustainability. It is privilege to be invited to participate as a panellist in this summit and I am excited to share my passion for physics and research with others in the tech world.
