Main scientific interests: Magnetohydrodynamic and kinetic models of the interaction between the solar wind (SW) and the local interstellar medium (LISM).

Currently associated with the launch of the Interstellar Space Probe scheduled for 2030.

The most important scientific achievement: A discovery of the asymmetry of the heliosphere and the tilt of the heliospheric „nose” from the inflow direction of the LISM due to oblique to the LISM velocity interstellar magnetic field – first presented at the 31  COSPAR meeting held in Birmingham, UK July 1996
