Karina Zablocka

Hi, my name is Karina Zabłocka, Senior Data Scientist at SIX. Although I didn't know it at the beginning of my career, this is the profession I have dreamed of all my life.

My career path was not standard. I graduated with a degree in Construction and completed Environmental Engineering and postgraduate studies in Geology. I worked as an academic teacher and an engineer in a large design company. I designed a metro station in Warsaw, I also helped in the design of the Orientarium in Łódź, one of the largest zoos in Poland, and other foreign projects. However, something was missing. When I started my doctoral studies, I entered the field of data analysis and I fell in love. When I saw how interesting data analysis could be, I started developing in this direction. Slowly but persistently, I gained knowledge in the field. Learning how to work with data, programming and data visualization have become my everyday life.

I have been working in Data Science since 2018. I worked for a non-governmental foundation, in the e-commerce, pharma and financial industries. What I find most exciting is being able to work in any industry and feel that your work really contributes to something bigger.
